DEVELOPMENT PARTNER COMPLIANCE & COORDINATION

Background
This Report briefly provides a 12 months update on Australia’s Aid Program and Non-Citizen Technical Advisers engaged by its Contractors to deliver its Aid Program in Papua New Guinea translated in the form of grant aid, technical cooperation and overseas development assistance loans amounting to billions of Kina.

The Report is guided by the National Executive Council (NEC) Decisions No’s 237/2015, 385/2015 and 07/2016 for all Development Partners to comply with new administrative and regulatory arrangements designed to protect Papua New Guinea sovereignty in the oversight and implementation of development partner programs and the engagement of Technical Advisers.

Functions
1. Implementation of strategic objectives of all the Development Partner Programs both PNG and Foreign Partners for compliance with Papua New Guinea Sovereignty Principles; and
2. Produce periodic and annual reports to the Chief Secretary, CACC and NEC on the audit findings including recommendations of appropriate actions for non-compliance.

To enhance and ensure public sector performance and accountability through a program of public sector reform with effective monitoring, evaluating and reporting.
