Prime Minister, Hon. James Marape, MP has thanked the hard working men and women of Papua New Guinea’s Internal Revenue Commission for their tireless efforts in collecting revenue for our country.
He expressed the Government’s gratitude to IRC whilst visiting and addressing the various commissioners of the Commission, this week, in Port Moresby.
“It is good to finally put names to your faces and touch base with you; who work behind the scene to set up a stage for us to continue to operate and exist as a Government.
On behalf of our people and the Government, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your ongoing efforts,” Prime Minister Marape said.
He further urged the commissioners to convey the Government’s gratitude to their officers working around the clock.
“We appreciate the good job they do for our country.
“This is just the start of many meetings I will be having with public servants, when I visit their departments and government agencies,” Prime Minister Marape said.
He said firstly do your best for your country and secondly if there is any ability to do better, we are here to encourage you to do the best for your country.
“My business is to rally and ensure that our citizens believe in themselves and serve our people with commitment and work extra hard to collect more revenue for our country.
“I am also here to hear your needs and provide support in whatever way we can to help you do your jobs even better,” Prime Minister Marape said.
The Prime Minister is expected to visit other State agencies and government department in the following days.
