PM MARAPE COMMITS K20 MILLION FOR NINE MILE SAIVARA SATELLITE TOWNSHIP PROJECT

The Pangu-led Government has committed K20 million for the development of the Nine Mile Saivara Satellite Township in 2025.

Prime Minister Hon. James Marape said the government has allocated K10 million this year for the satellite township development but said the government is happy to commit another K20 million towards the progress of this project next year.

The funding, Mr Marape said, is budgeted and available under urbanization and land acquisition.

In ensuring that the project is fully implemented, the Prime Minister has now called on the residents of the Moresby North-East electorate to cooperate and work with their Member, Hon. John Kaupa and National Capital District Governor, Hon. Powes Parkop to commence the suburban housing project.

Mr Marape said the funds allocated this year and next year are for proper work on land survey, road construction, power installation, water, and sewerage implementation.

There are over 5000 allotments to be developed, Mr Marape said, and once completed, the land titles will be awarded to the long-time residents of Nine Mile.

The Prime Minister commended Moresby North-East Member Hon. John Kaupa for his involvement with the public and private sectors and for his efforts, hard work, and commitment for the residents of Nine Mile.
