Prime Minister Hon. James Marape is preparing to attend two significant overseas engagements in October – the inaugural PNG-Asia Mining & Petroleum Investment Conference in Hong Kong and the 3rd Belt & Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing, China.
Prime Minister Marape was being briefed today by Chinese Ambassador to PNG, HE. Zeng Fanhua on the two upcoming engagements.
PM Marape will attend the conference which will be on 16th and 17th October 2023 where he will deliver the keynote address.
He will then depart for the People’s Republic of China on his Official State Visit to meet President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang in bilateral meetings, and attend the forum where he will deliver another statement.
A visit and address at a Chinese university is also being planned for the Prime Minister where he will advocate for Pacific Island Countries being affected by the impact of Climate Change.
PM Marape will also pay visits to Chinese enterprises and the headquarters of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank to witness PNG’s membership to this financial institution.
