PM MARAPE MEETS JAPAN’S STATE MINISTER FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS; REAFFIRMS PNG’S STRONG TIES WITH JAPAN

Prime Minister Hon. James Marape this morning met Japan’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs Hon. Iwao Horii during which the two leaders reaffirmed their respective country’s commitment to strengthening their existing bi-lateral relations.

Minister Horii is in the country to participate in the grand opening of the new Nadzab Tomodachi International Airport in Morobe Province which was done on Monday this week.

At the meeting today, Prime Minister Marape thanked Minister Horii and the Government of Japan for the various high-impact investment projects that Japan has undertaken over the years for Papua New Guinea such as the redevelopment of the recently-opened Nadzab Tomodachi International Airport.
